A0: Applied Exercise
Presentables Checklist
The Presentables are the outward-facing version of your investigation.
While the [Artefacts Checklist] documents the evidence and working material behind your project, the Presentables ask you to select, edit, and distil that larger body of work into a clear and engaging story.
A key objective is to practise distillation: deciding what matters most, what evidence best supports your findings, and how to communicate those ideas concisely to someone who has not followed your process.
Your final package consists of:
- Abstract
- Slides
- Video — approximately 90 seconds to 2 minutes
Selected work may also be shared through the course’s Instagram / public-facing channels, so prepare these materials for an audience beyond the classroom.
(i) ABSTRACT
Prepare a concise abstract that introduces the main story of your investigation.
Include:
- A memorable title.
- What you investigated.
- How you tested the VLM.
- Your most important finding or observation.
- A brief indication of what you explored through TRANSFORM.
The abstract should distil the project, rather than list every task you completed.
(ii) SLIDES
Prepare a concise portrait-format visual sequence communicating the main progression of your investigation.
Use the slides to select the most important evidence from:
GATHER → EXAMINE → IDENTIFY → INTERROGATE → EVALUATE → TRANSFORM → SELECT
You do not need to reproduce everything contained in your submitted artefacts.
Instead, prioritise:
- Strong Context → System → Detail examples.
- Your most revealing questions and VLM tests.
- Clear examples of what the model did well or poorly.
- Comparisons that support your main findings.
- Selected transformation sequences.
- Your final selected outcomes.
Use visual evidence, captions, diagrams, tables, and concise annotations rather than long blocks of text.
The slides should make sense to someone encountering your project for the first time.
(iii) VIDEO
Prepare a short video of approximately 90 seconds to 2 minutes.
The video should communicate the main story of your investigation rather than simply reproduce your slides.
Aim to communicate:
- What you investigated.
- One or more revealing VLM tests.
- What you discovered about the model’s capabilities or limitations.
- How you moved from testing the AI to working with the AI.
- The most interesting transformed or selected outcomes.
- A concise final takeaway.
Think carefully about pace, sequencing, visual hierarchy, and narration. You will need to leave many things out — that is part of the exercise.
